Books I Loved This Summer

So, we are well and truly into the summer and I'm usually at this point gearing up for my own summer holidays. Sadly (I am very, very grateful) I have already had mine. It was our first year where school holidays weren’t restricting us so we took the opportunity and went on a holiday of a lifetime. It was amazing, it included a safari and a beach break and if you believe the photos it will look 100% idyllic and without hitch or glitch or upset. Of course, we are a normal family and normal things happen. On top of the amazing moments, the chance to be a family together again, we had one son with a hefty bout of D&V, another who needed an emergency stop out the back of our jeep for diarrhoea in the middle of the Serengeti, another who was having quite the existential crisis whilst deciding to choose which uni offer to take. It was amazing, don’t get me wrong - but it was also normal. Full of normal stuff because we are normal people in a normal family. I’m saying this because it’s easy to look at other people’s highlight reels and think that that is the whole story. The whole story involves all the ups and downs of life because that’s what makes a life rich and meaningful. Here endeth my TEDTalk.

Now, holidays are also times to do some reading. I worked my way through a metaphorical pile of books on my kindle (I am now a full convert and can’t believe I resisted for so long) and am ready for some recommendations from all of you to take me through the autumn (just hit reply to this email and let me know your top books!).

The content of this week’s episode is one that always seems to resonate with you all - it’s my summer book reads episode! This was recorded before my summer hols so I have a whole new list of recommends for another time, but for now, have a listen (or watch) of this week’s podcast where I talk you through some of my favourite recent reads, why I liked them (or didn’t) and how a good book can make us think about our own lives!

I’m not going to spoil the episode and give you the list of books right here  - you’re going to have to listen for yourself!

I hope you enjoy, and please do send me your book recommendations as I am always on the lookout!

With love,

Hannah x

P.S. The Purpose Pursuit coaching course is back with a bang in September… it’s time to join the wait list and be the first to join this next cohort (special offers for early bird waitlisters).

P.P.S. An obvious book recommendation is my own but it’s not quite out yet - you can pre-order now, a great present for yourself, or a christmas present for a loved one (sorry for mentioning Christmas in August).
