Endings, Beginnings and Unfinished Things

There’s one kind of podcast episode or blog post that consistently gets the most responses from you - and that’s when I just show up and talk honestly about life. No special format, no expert interview, no polished takeaways - just a reflection on how things are really going. I often wonder why you like them so much but I think it’s just about the realness, and the fact that we feel seen when we hear other people’s stories. When we hear someone else share their story, we often hear ourselves too. It’s that comforting reminder that what we’re feeling - no matter how strange, heavy, or complicated - is often both deeply personal and entirely universal. It reminds us we’re not going mad. That someone else gets it. That we’re part of the human family. And somehow, just knowing that makes whatever we’re facing feel a little more manageable.

I’ll admit: some of my recent life lately episodes have been a little heavy. No surprise - there’s been a lot of letting go, a lot of grieving. And sometimes I second-guess whether I should share the harder parts - because no one wants to be that friend who’s always bringing the mood down.

It’s an ‘all the vibes’ kind of space. A place where we can laugh and cry, start and finish, celebrate and grieve. Often all on the same day. I believe a healthy, purposeful life makes room for the full spectrum of emotion, and I hope this podcast gives you permission to live that way too.

So, this week’s episode is another meandering through my life lately. I don’t over-script these -  just a few bullet points, one take, real life.

Endings – The last days of uni, travel, and school for my sons. It’s bittersweet.

Reunions – The joy of airport hugs and being back together.

Unfinished business – Why I love having things all tied up… and just can’t seem to get it!

Emotional disconnect and a loss of mojo – When people expect you to feel one thing, and yet you feel nothing… and you’re not sure why or what’s going on.

Losing someone who’s still here – What it’s like to love a parent living with dementia.

Breakthrough moments – Client stories that remind me how powerful it is just to talk.

If you’re in the mood for something honest, I’d love you to tune in. I hope it helps you feel a little less alone in whatever you’re holding today.

With love,

Hannah x

P.S. My new book is filled with real-life client stories like the ones I share in this episode. My editor told me they were some of her favourite parts - she felt like she was hearing the behind-the-scenes moments that really hit home. If that sounds like your kind of read, you can pre-order it here

P.P.S. You’re doing better than you think.
